CEOs Changing like Hot Cakes
Company boards are appointing CEOs like Oprah here.
Being a CEO is not easy.
I know cause I run my own company, providing you with all the know-hows and knowledge to help you in your investments.
And it has been hard (mightily hard) to get everything together from content, administration, etc to deliver you the best value.
So, it came as no surprise then when I saw that 2024 recorded the highest turnover in U.S. CEOs. How high? 1,991.
In this week’s edition, I bring you what I think about the record-high changes in CEOs and also a tool by Seeking Alpha that could spearhead your investment journey.

Visual of the Week 📹
Woah, companies are changing their CEOs like they are changing clothes. Last year, a record 1,991 U.S. companies changed their CEOs.
If you recall, several high-profile companies such as Intel, Starbucks, and Nike had their shake-ups.
Changes in CEOs are tricky to decipher for their impact on the share price. But it’s fair to say that new leadership will bring a higher degree of volatility in the short term.
For investors in a company that has undergone such an event, it’s important to get your research started on
The background of the new CEO (whether they are suitable and competent)
The proposed plan and whether it makes sense to the company
Whether the board is actually the problem - not the CEO
If anything, frequent changes in CEOs should be a red flag. It means that the company board is unable to appoint a suitable person to run the company, and should cast doubt on whether the company is even a good one.
Tool of the Week
Have you ever sat in front of the monitor and just scrolled past endless articles to find an investment idea?
You take in too much information that you feel paralysed to find anything suitable for you. If you have that problem, Seeking Alpha might be suitable for you.
I have been using it for some time now, and I find myself frequently going to the sections called “Most Compelling Analyst Ideas” and “Latest Value Ideas” on the Home page.
The first section provides articles written by analysts that received a lot of attention from readers, and it’s like a community-driven effort to pinpoint the ‘best investment ideas’.

Meanwhile, the second section is perfect when I am in the mood to find hidden gems in the market that are undervalued and have huge potential.
